DigiLocker is a platform for issuing and verifying digital documents and certificates, which eliminates the need for physical documents. When an Indian citizen registers for a DigiLocker account, they receive a dedicated cloud storage space linked to their Aadhaar or UIDAI number.
DigiLocker-stored e-copies of your driver's licence and vehicle registration certificates are now considered valid documents.
There is no need for such documents to be physically seized if you violate a traffic rule.
